Sunday in Salt Lake City

We took a free ride from the RV park in a Mormon van down to Temple Square.   They let people come to watch the Mormon Tabernacle Choir do their weekly broadcast.  It was nice but we couldn't understand a word of their songs.

Afterwards, we had the oil changed in our pickup and installed a new air filter.   We have driven nearly 5,000 miles already and our poor pickup needed attention!

We ate a Chile Relleno lunch at the Red Iguano.  It was a lot different than we were accustomed to.  They covered it up with tomatoe sauce!  Everything on the trip is a lot more expensive than Texas.  Yay, Texas.  I know it is hot back there but we still like Texas!

We also stopped at a nearby grocery store called, Viva.  Guess what?  It had plenty of Hispanic food including a hogs head!  And...................huge containers of lots of different kinds of peppers.

We plan to go back to Temple Square this morning to do family tree research at their Family Search Center.  I am wearing my Christian Cycling shirt and we plan to wear our Cowboy Church caps.  Toni is convinced that her grandmother was part Indian so we are attempting to prove or disprove it, one way or the other.

Having gone into several of their units such as tabernacles, etc. I noticed that there is not one cross shown in the entire 35 acres.  Lots of statues of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young so it seems to me they worship those two much more than Jesus.  But................what do I know.
