Wednesday, Aug. 3rd - Going to Silverton

We decided we would like to go check out the RV parks in Silverton in case we wanted to stay there next year so we drove the 24 miles to look it over.

A shot of our camp site in Ouray.  One of the best sites we have been in!

A picture of Ouray from up on the mountain.

A little different view.

Picture of a cute couple we found up on the overlook!

Snow shed on the road to Silverton.

Just one of the many views along the Million Dollar Highway to Silverton.

Who needs a stinking Jeep to go offroading!  On the way to Silverton we took an offroad trip to the Ironton abandoned town.  All of the next few pictures were taken at Ironton.

A homeless cutie happened to be wandering through the area. I took her with me so she would have a home.

Look closely at the lower left side.  If you lived on a farm back in the day, you will recognize this thing.

Beautiful view taken from the highway.

Bryce, Clay, and Todd, you guys may remember this spot in Silverton!!  This is the exact spot that we camped in our tents when we took our Jeeps to the area!

Street picture of downtown Silverton.

We found this unique house that we plan to rent for three months next summer.  Very energy efficient.

We didn't find a suitable RV park so we headed back without talking to anyone.  This is the first picture after leaving Silverton.  We don't know what this was.  An old buidling with some sort of chute.

One of several shots of the narrow crooked road that is the Million Dollar Highway.

Memorial beside the highway for three men that have died while maintaining the road.

Another memorial at the same spot for a man, wife, and child that lost their life in a landslide.

Another crooked highway picture.

Self-explanatory.

This is a picture of the huge hot springs pool back in Ouray.
