Day 12 - Portland, OR

Yeah, we are within 200 miles of Seattle, Washington!!  This trip here to go on an Alaskan Cruise was pretty much Bryce's idea.  We are glad we are doing it but we aren't used to this much driving!  If we do another cruise in the future, we plan to fly up here!

One of the worst things about the trip has been my propensity to change where we stay and for how long.  We decided we wanted to go visit Kay Gough, a former FDIC employee, that now lives in Bigfork, MT.  This necessitated reservation changes.  I also became "p" offed at the campsite in Hill City, SD because they are price gauging due to the Harley Rally going on at Sturgis.

As a result, we have shortened our stay there down to 3 nights and plan to spend nearly two weeks in Ouray, Colorado.  Another reason for the change is the fact that I could find no mountain bike trails around Hill City and there are tons of them at Ouray.  The squirrel in my personality has been a problem.

I forgot to mention that when we went on the tour in the Hoover Dam, we had to go through a metal detector.  Guess what.......................they confiscated my $80 Cold Steel pocket knife.  Now I feel totally naked since I don't have one to carry around!

Anyway, we are now in Portland, Oregon and the RV park we are in is really nice.   All the following pictures were taken by Toni in Oregon.

A huge truck stop where we refueled and ate a bite at Denny's.

For all our Texas folks, this is what rain looks like!!

Those are apple trees in the distance.  Toni's comment was, "That is an apple orchard.  I know it is because I am here and no one can argue with me."

Here is a nest of yachts.  (maybe just sail boats but we don't know the difference:

This is what our GPS looked like in Portland.

A shot of our RV campground.

Our stuff.
