First: Will it be raining?
Second: Are they still working on the road?
As you can probably guess, it was raining the day we went up and they were working on the road. We drove a total of 200 miles in 9 hours and got back to the camper totally worn out. Since it rained all day, we didn't take any hikes, which would have been nice to do. The rain and clouds also obscured a lot of the view.
Don't get me wrong, the trip was still wonderful, even though our progress was halted 10 or 12 times while we waited eons for the constructions crews to allow our line of traffic through the one lane areas.
Something else we have learned........................stay out of the national parks while people have children out of school. The children aren't a problem. The problem comes from people being able to hit the national parks so there are millions of folks out gawking at stuff.
This is about the only picture Toni took that is fuzzy.
This is a lodge in the park. The railroad built it years ago to lure people to the area.
Huge fireplace inside the lodge.
The lobby of the lodge is quite unique.
A nice stream that runs between the buildings.
It is difficult to comprehend by looking at pictures how narrow the little road is!! This is one of the widest parts!
This is one of the many place where they were working on the road and only one line of traffic at a time could get through.
This is at the top of Logan's Pass. It was cold as the dickens and the wind was blowing 146 mph.
These are only a sample of pictures taken. If anyone wants to see a complete set of any our pictures, just drop me an email at clcarroll1@hotmail.com telling me which group you want. I have figured out how to easily make an album out of them to send out.
